Oven Poached Quinces

Oven Poached Quinces,

You will need,

1 litre water

500gms castor sugar

4 quinces

cinnamon sticks or powder

3cm piece of ginger, peeled and sliced

1. Preheat oven to 180c

2. Put water and sugar in a saucepan until the sugar dissolves on low heat.

3. peel and cut the seed from the quince, cut into wedges. Place in a single layer in your baking dish.

4. Scatter to cinnamon and ginger over the top and pour over the syrup.

5. Bake in a medium oven covered for about 2 hours till quinces are pink and soft.

SERVE QUINCES WARM WITH ICECREAM AND THE SYRUP OVER THE TOP. YUM!

left over can be put in a container in the fridge and served cold. great on your morning cereal.
